Turned from a sugar maple burl vessel that Chris Ramsey gave me 7-8 years ago. It was primo material with enough to get three pieces. This piece was in the freezer several years, then turned 2-3 years ago. I just recently got around to the carving. Sometimes things take a while.

180 segments per row with 62 rows. Around 12.5" diameter and 9.5" high. Made with Maple, Bloodwood, Yellowheart, Chacka Viga, and Wenge. Took around 150 hours to make.

Still using the techniques gained from Laurent Niclot, these are a community of turned and carved works. The tips were carved and shaped with rasps. Patterns were pyro-carved followed by multiple coats of dry-brush painting with acrylic paint.
