Friends Sally Ault, Janice Levi, Ana Lappegard and I have been working on this turning because we wanted to. It measures 7 1/2" x 10" including the base. The bowl is pear and the base is manzanita.
Corian vase decorated with polymer clay millefiori (4" D x 7" H). The polymer clay was made into "canes" of flowers, leaves, etc. Very thin (<0.01") slices are cut from these canes and laid onto the base material (Corian in this case). It is then baked at 275°F for 30 min to cure. The resulting...

180 segments per row with 62 rows. Around 12.5" diameter and 9.5" high. Made with Maple, Bloodwood, Yellowheart, Chacka Viga, and Wenge. Took around 150 hours to make.

Still using the techniques gained from Laurent Niclot, these are a community of turned and carved works. The tips were carved and shaped with rasps. Patterns were pyro-carved followed by multiple coats of dry-brush painting with acrylic paint.
