From stump in front yard. Yellow bellied sap suckers killed the tree about 6 years ago. Beautiful spalting! 5 1/4 in. tall, 4 1/4 in. wide, 1/8 in. thick, very light. Finished with water-born acrylic, waxed.
A slightly different take on a snap lid box as the lid has a tenon that allows it to fit snugly into the body of the box. In curly big leaf maple this box is 2 1/4" in diameter and 2 3/4" tall.

Maple HF, 4-1/2" dia. x 7-1/4" tall. Wall 1/8". Dyed with Artisan Dye and finished with Deft Spray Lacquer and Buffed. Interior is left natural. Dimpled rim with Dremal tool.

This hollow form/vase is made from a single piece of old growth Spalted Curly Ambrosia Maple and segmented with Walnut veneer.
It is 6 3/8 inches tall by 4 1/4 inches in diameter.
The finish is shellac and wax.
