Started as a demo for my woodworkers club round robin night. Piece is 4.5"h, 4.5"w. Wall thickness is 1/16" or less. Natural edge. Pierced sapwood border.

This piece of booked matched curly maple didn't need much to enhance it, so I thought some subtle piercing would work. This piece is a bit deeper and more "bowl-like" than the platter I did with a similar look. About 2" h x 10.5" dia

This black cherry bowl is approx. 9" in diameter and was turned to about 3/32". It was then pierced to the point that it became spring-like when compressed. Sorry for the crummy picture, I hadn't gotten a decent camera at this point.
