mallee burl ,this is what I do with the off cuts . After a days turning of these I just have fun making them into sets .Amazing how pieces change when placed in a differnt set

This is a cherry burl on a pedestal textured and painted with gesso and acrylic.

This is a piece of maple burl that measures about 6" long by 4" wide. Eggs are turned from cocobolo.

8 x 1 3/4 with 5/32 walls finished in BLO and lacquered, buffed afterwards with Whit Diamond and Ren Wax.

14" tall by 9" wide Cherry Burl Vase with Bark Inclusion

6 X 3 1/4. wWalls are 1/4" thick except at the opening area. Left it just a hair thicker.

Turned with the aid of hot melt glue so I could leave the natural texture of the burl 300mm long finished with danish oil

Red Mallee Burl ,500mm long sits on 3 feet ,finished with 10 coats of Danish oil and buffed . A special piece of timber I just love turning this stuff . Ill probably never get another like this

this is my latest piece, turned and carved from boxwood root burl. ~30*20*12cm (12*8*5inches) from spikes to spikes. the spikes were carved in the original roots that came out of the burl ball. the main body has been lightly sandblasted to increase the organic look. thanks for viewing. Pascal
