This piece of red eucalyptus can't decide if it's a bowl or a vase, but it's about 7" wide by 5 1/2" tall. The walls are about 3/16" thick (tapering to a rounded bottom on the inside). I burned the rim just to highlight the thinness of the rim.
Antique Oil and spray lacquer...
Approximately 7" dia x 3" tall. I got (free) a nice little piece of hard Maple with some spalt lines along the edge. I added a Lyptus base to give the piece a little height and color. It is surprisingly stable with the solid Lyptus base. Again, I am a newbie turner so I would...
Turned green from a small Black Cherry branch burl. Size is 9" dia x 7" tall. Finished with a light coat of Danish oil and buffed with white diamond and carnauba wax.

A friend from my smaller turning group gave me a branch of very old and dry Rhododendron from a large "tree" he removed many years ago.

Madrone, 5d x 4.25t
I finished this little piece back in October. I guess it goes with that season and how I was feeling about the start of the hollidays.
Cedar, jute, brass, 9.5d x 3.375t
I was unable to find cord of the diameter I desired, so I twisted my own from jute twine. The interesting fact here - it required 13 feet of twine to make the four strand cord circling this small piece.
