Charred oak bowl #2, 4.5"h x 10"w, tung oil finish. Textured rim with carved feet. An interesting feature of this bowl is the dark heartwood is visible in the bowl, and the light sapwood is visible in the 3 feet which are not charred.
Bur Oak (Quercus Macrocarpa) is not my favourite wood to turn, but it does have a look that tends to lend itself to simple shapes.
This particular piece is approximately 12 inches tall and is finished with Antique Oil.
