Petal Bowl
Flower petal bowl with carved feet representing the sepals of a flower. This one was my first try at airbrushing the dye (5 different colors) which worked pretty good, a lot less messy than applying by hand. Went over to Jerry Bennett
Lately I've been using this simple vase form to try out the effect of various embellishments such as the spacing of flutes, dyeing, bleaching, sandblasting, liming etc. These are all ash and are about 10 inches tall.
This piece is box elder which has been hollowed form both the top and bottom and then the bottom was plugged. It is about 12 inches tall. Dyed with aniline dye. I'm tempted to name it "Aardvark".
This is an ash vase which measures about 9 3/4 inches tall. It has been turned, routed, shaped, dyed and limed. Other "flavours" which are at or near completion include burgundy grape, avocado and blueberry.
This is a box elder (Manitoba Maple) vase which is black on the inside and blue on the outside. It has 8 routed spiral slots and measures approx 10 inches tall.
