This hollow form is turned from cherry. The growth rings are interesting and remind me of weathered stone. It measures 8 inches by 6 inches and is finished with Waterlox buffed satin with 0000 steel wool. All comments and critiques are welcomed and appreciated.
This cherry hollow form had beautiful grain and color that I really began to see during turning. 4.5"H x 8.5"D and turned to less than 1/4" thickness. This gave it a nice pucker factor during turning. Sanded to 600 in and out, danish oil and buffed. Comments and critiques welcome.
A crotch provides rich grain and much expression. This vase brings various views as it is rotated giving multiple feelings as one views it just like life does. Delight comes from the beauty within the grain as revealed as the natural exterior is removed. One can then only guess what is still...
