Woodland Native inspired vessel

The recent e-mail from AAW suggested looking at ancient forms for inspiration. I've always admired the shapes of the Native American cooking and storage pots. I turned this one (approx. 4" dia. x 5" high) from walnut, planning a natural finish. I didn't like the color or grain so I painted the pot with Old Village "Pewter". After the paint dried I wiped it with black stain and rubbed it back to create a patina. Final finish was flat clear Krylon.
