Wide Pierced Rim Bowl

Wide Pierced Rim Bowl

Black Locust Rim and Bowl. Pecan inside coupling. Rim pierced with NSK Proto II and Engraved by laser. Lacquer finish. 9 1/2" across, 4 5/" bowl mouth 1 1/2" high.
A few things bother me. The piercing seems a bit heavy handed and the broken pieces are distracting, the crack in the platter rim and laminated center bowl are also distracting. A good learning piece, and points out some details that you can improve on. Often, less is more when using embellishment.
