1979 Maple Burl..

Sometimes a low MC roughed bowl takes it's time to stabilize, and this one is one of the more extreme examples. Original block was 12% MC, and after roughing, it took 10 months to stabilize. 12 7/8" x 3 1/16", 1 lb 8.7 oz. Sanded to 600gt, Danish oil natural, Beall 3-step buffed. Has undercut rim, and was advertised as a centerpiece. Sold for $335 Dec 2022.

Thanks - that helps me understand the precision of the fine cuts. Would it be possible for a photo of your homemade tool rest?
