The Mask

The Mask

This very morphed Arbutus Burl bowl and is the 3rd core from the 2nd burl chunk, this piece was not boiled like the 2 larger bowls but once turned while green and wet sanded to 320. This piece has crazy movement and may be why the 2 larger cores wanted to check even after boiling. Finished with 2 coats of tung oil and measures 11” X 8” X 4” high. This piece reminds me of the very early NHL goalie masks.
