Redwood burl live edge

Redwood burl live edge

My wife and I got married in Big Sur. During that trip, I was lucky enough to meet a carpenter who had some salvaged redwood burl he was willing to part with. I have a large blank I haven't worked up the courage to touch yet, but he also threw in some cut-offs. This one was bug-eaten but stayed together. Walls are a consistent 1/16" to 3/32" and it is pleasantly light and delicate. Finish is pretty basic, but I'm scared to try to buff this one.
