Kingwood Elegant Box

Here is the box I said I would attempt in the thread "Curious about the source of this box design" I decided to give it a try! It is inspired by Mike Stafford's boxes. Wood is Kingwood- a true Rosewood. Turned, hollowed, and finished with wax and gloss lacquer. Size is approx. 2 inches tall and 2.25 inches wide. This particular design is harder to design and turn because the shape really has to be perfect with a good proportional lid!

Nice little box. and it has a threaded lid too? Did you hand thread the wood or use an insert of another material?
Love the way the grain lines up so well.
Sweet.

I didn't see this all these months ago, so thanks Steiph! It actually is not threaded, just a friction fit.
