Dyed Maple Burl

Helped my neighbor core a maple burl and he gave me the core :). Dyed with Fiebing Black Leather Dye, thinned with DNA and finished with WOP.

That is really a spectacular looking piece. The show dye makes it much more dramatic than any other finish I could think of. After applying the shoe dye did you sand it off so that it only remained in the more porous areas?

Nate,
Great technique using the dye to produce a spectacular finish with wonderful contrast.
