Other Side
That's a beautiful piece of wood that you turned into a beautiful vase Jerry. Isn't it great how turning lets you find the 'beauty within' a piece of wood.

Incredible work with a fantastic piece of wood. The colors and grain patterns are out of this world and you've complemented them well with your skill. The collar is a very nice accent to the piece.

I like your use of metal and think it adds an interesting contrast in thinner areas lower on the form, however, I find the solid color/size of the pewter in the crack near the top to be distracting. My mind expects the the color gradation to go from the light body color to the darker crack, but then you see a lighter colored space with no texture at all. To me the large area of solid color detracts from the rich color/grain patterns of the rest of the form.

Having said all that, I am interested in your materials and methods and look forward to learning more if you are comfortable sharing.
