Pinard Horn

A few days ago- i didnt even know what this was ,lol . But a request is a request right and I love challenges so i took this on. This one is made from some local curly cottonwood and is 7" long and has a natural hand rubbed finish on it. For those who want to know more, this is what it is according to wiki - A Pinard horn is a type of stethoscope used to listen to the heart rate of a fetus during pregnancy. It is a hollow horn, often made of wood or metal, about 8 inches (200 mm) long. It functions similarly to an ear trumpet by amplifying sound. The user holds the wide end of the horn against the pregnant woman's abdomen, and listens through the other end.
Before you go scaring pregnant women by being unable to hear the baby's heart beat, keep in mind that it works well, but only in late pregnancy. If you can turn a doppler device to use in early pregnancy, I'll give you a dollar!

PS, beautiful work

@Dean Center, Thanks Dean - I will leave the listening to my niece and her group of midwives and i think i will pass on the doppler challenge ,lol --although they have me making some fetascopes next .lol
