Video on Turning a Half-Twist Bowl

I've posted a number of images of my half-twist bowls on the photo gallery. The process I use to make these is a combination of on-center and off-center (multi-axis) techniques. Brian,

I really enjoyed watching your video on how to make the twisted vessels. One comment I have is at the 2:45 point in the video you mention using a bowl gouge to start the shaping. To me it looked more like a roughing gouge than a bowl gouge. If it was in fact a roughing gouge is that a safe cut for it?

Damon, Yes I did mean to say roughing gouge. I think I had bowl gouge on my mind as an alternative for the 'edge cuts' where I used my Hunter Hercules 3 tool. The roughing gouge takes too wide a bite when trying to cut a precise edge.
