Threaded Rings

Last year I purchased from Packard Woodworks what they called threaded rings. They were two brass rings that both had flanges and threads allowing them to join and act as threads for mating the top and bottom of a small box. The only size available had a:confused: 1 1/2" opening. When installed properly they were undetectable and functioned really well. Packard no longer carries them and I have had no luck finding them elsewhere. Anyone out there have a lead as to where to purchase these threaded rings? Any help is appreciated.

Thanks, Dwight

I don't know if you will want to use it, but several fellas I know of use threaded black PVC for their urns and such. Same principal but one PVC threaded set can be cut into several sets and if epoxied into the wood while on the lathe, the PVC can be trued up easily. Just a suggestion if you can't find brass ones.

Scott,
I appreciate the suggestion: I have used that method on larger items. These threaded rings have such thin walls and fine threads that they are a seamless fit on these small boxes and xmas ornaments ect.
Thanks, Dwight
