Shop Heating

I would be careful using packing peanuts. They may be more flammable than regular insulating foam and might also produce poisonous fumes. However my shop is so cold right now I might try shoving some down my pants. To misquote May West, Are those peanuts in your pants or are you happy to see me.

Worse - they will melt and spew flaming lava downhill to turn what might have been vulnerable to your ever-present (it IS, right???) hand extinguisher into a general conflagration. Think firestorm.

Same goes for many forms of rigid foam insulation. Not certified for horizontal use. Get the batts into your belfry, and put the vapor barrier down.
