Hello all
I'm Salvador Lucas from Barcelona, Spain. Sorry for my bad english. I'm sculptor, woodcarver and turner. (Sorted by time needed to make a piece....).Clipboard03.jpg

Woodturning is the last ability I try to achieve. Over 15 years I began. Im a "urban woodturner" little space to work, poor access to woods... im focused so on make little boxes and bowls.

Lasts five years I try to start my own business by creating a workshop-classroom-socialclub "Taller Pinocho" for join to all my neighbords interested in woodworking. Teaching is a great source of thinking, interchange and grown.

Regards from Barcelona!!

Hola, Salvador, and welcome! Your English is certainly better than my Spanish. I have been to Barcelona once and enjoyed your city very much. I think you will find the forums to be very helpful. The piece in the photo you posted is very nice. What woods did you use?

thanks Don,
Im happy you know our city, really its a nice place. The sphere is made with honduran Mahogany, the base is "Bossé" someone calls "cedar bosse" but i think its not cedar, the name is Guarea Cedrata, smells like strawberry.... the finials are made of Boxwood.
