I own a Jet AFS -1500 air filter. Have it right over the lathe pretty much. It does a nice job. But, the small remote control has gotten where it does not work most of the time. But, then on occasion, I will push the button and it will work. I have changed the batteries, cleaned the contact springs. Does not change anything.
Does anyone out there have a solution? Is there something I can do to make this control work?

I was just looking at the Jet web site and they sell the control for about $75. I bought the whole air filter for less than $300......way back when.
Thanks
Hugh

If you turn it on will it come back on if you unplug it plug it back in? If so, you could just plug it into a switched outlet. Something like a power strip. Or something like this1675212409629.png

I own an older Jet air cleaner that had similar problems. I too the remote cover off and sprayed it with a good contact cleaner and 'viola... it worked. give it a shot before you spend money on a new remote.

I will try the cleaning idea tomorrow morning. Good idea Dave.
I like Lou's idea also.
Try the cleaning first......then move on to new plug/
Thanks Guys. Good stuff.

Today, I took the wireless control apart. Figured I would clean it up and pull the battery springs a bit. Thinking, maybe better battery contact.
Put it back together and still did not function.
Then, I turned the air filter on with the button that is on the back of the system. Unplugged it. Let it run down. Then plugged it back into the outlet. Did not start. Just like Gerald said.
So, I am down to having to manually push the button on the back of the box to get it to go on and off. Going to try that for awhile and see if that bothers me.
Thanks for the help everyone. Maybe I will give Jet a call and see what they say.
Have to use the air filter. It is winter and I can not open up the shop to air out the dust.

I had a similar problem with my Oneida dust collector. One of their tech people suggested extending the antenna on the receiver—opening the switch box, finding the little wire inside that serves as an antenna, and splicing a longer piece of wire onto that and running it outside the box. It solved the problem for me. You might want to give that a try.
