I am from San Diego, born in Minnesota. I retired at age 68 in 2019 and started wood working. Some furniture and a lot of wood boxes. In 2020 my younger brother turned me on to woodturning and I got hooked. My workshop is in my garage. I am now on my second lathe; the first was a bench top Jet 10 15. I sold the Jet to a friend and last year purchased a Nova Neptune. I am having a ball!

Welcome to the forum. I see you like bark on , which can be a real challenge. Took me 3 times to figure out how to keep it on the wood, not to mention those pieces that just flew back onto the lathe.
I do like the bark on although it is very hard to find out here in San Diego. I have to drive east to the foothills to a local winery and hope that they have trimmed a tree to get pieces or western oak or olive. If they don't have any, the day is not lost, there is always time for a wine tasting!!
