Has anyone made their own duplication finger set up? I saw Tom Silva recently had one in a video and it looked handy for things like Windsor chair spindles and the replication of such.

That looks like an awfully tedious setup especially for something as simple as a bat.
The method that I came up with will give results that in a lot less time but you do need to use calipers. This method would only be necessary for multiples such as this project that was for about 60 balusters.
The technique is to first mark the pummels directly from the drawing on the tool rest then turn the area between to round at the max diameter of any of the details. The next is to mark the features again from the drawing and proceed using a parting tool to turn down to close to the noted diameter. The next step is to turn the details using the parting cuts as a guide along with the contour shown on the drawing then a light sanding.
