From woodcarver David Fisher's website/blog, some free advice on decision making in your craft. And life.

"Keep things in perspective. You don’t have to make the perfect decision for it to be a good decision. There will be other pieces of wood. This is not a matter of whether to snip the red wire or the green wire. And if you’re temporarily stumped on what to do next, sharpen something. That is always a good next thing to do, and it will free up your mind."

I've had projects that get put on hold (or never get started) because of that lack of decisiveness. It's very good advice that I should try to remember. I also try to tell myself that the screwups are all lessons.

I think the best advice I received many years ago was, especially if you're at some sort of impasse " when dont know what to do, do what you know to do" . The idea is to move on from where you are at present, sometimes it aint going the way I thought it should and if I cant determine the best way forward. The 'time' is the answer it gets , on the shelf :) , over thinking doesnt help here
