David Ellsworth, one of the greats of the woodturning world, will be in New Orleans for a 2 day demonstration on April 26 & 27, 2008. The date has now been firmed and the location is in Harahan, LA (15 minutes from the Superdome) Hotel rooms are available in Metairie for that weekend. It is also opening weekend for the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans so there is a lot going on in town.
David has not finalized his program, but we will have 2 days of demonstrations with a different program each day.
Tickets are available via the internet at www.bayouwoodturners.com or www.turnedwood.net. Seating will be limited to a matinee sized audience. no seat will be farther than 40' from the lathe. Two 5'X5' projection screens will bring you views from up to 4 different camera positions.
Lunch, drinks and snacks are included in the admission price of $50.00 for members and $60.00 for non-members. The admission price covers both days.
There is a lottery for members, including new members, for a limited amount of spots in single day hands-on classes to be taught by David Ellsworth in the days following the weekend demonstration. For details on the lottery, contact Eddie Castelin @eddiecastelin@cox.net
