I have been turning a batch of the popular Cigar pens as gifts. I have kits from both Woodcraft and Berea Hard Woods. Every pen I turn the twist top binds on the twist mechanism before the upper barrel slides home. The two different vendors kits are very simular. I spoke with both companies technical help sites December 16th. Both companies were great! Customer service still exist.

I am having to cut down the smaller drive tube inside the clip assembly to 1.25" to keep this drive tube from binding on the twist mechanism when I assemble the pens. Has anyone else had this binding problem when assembling these kits?

I haen't had problems with any other pen kits in years.
