I first turned wood more than 50 years ago in highschool shop. I took a few years off (probably 15 years or so) in college and my first job (apartment living didn't provide space for a lathe). Moved for the job, bought a house with a garage and bought a delta lathe with a horrible Reeves drive. turned a bit, on and off. A few jobs and moves later, I retired and sold the Delta and bought a small laguna and some new chisels. MUCH happier. I need to practice sharpening. The Mrs gave me a box of bowl blanks for Christmas and said "I don't care what else you make, I want you to make me a box", something I've never done, so I guess I'll need to buy some new tools 😉.

I currently live on the midcoast of Maine.
