I love BLM for that flame figure you've got.

How long has it been drying? I've noticed a slight surface texture matching the flaming emerges as much as a year after finishing a piece. Can be either a problem or a feature.

Thanks for all the kind words. Actually, this piece was turned from some wood that had been laying around my shop for about 3 years. I don't think it will change its surface anytime soon. But I do know what you are talking about. If this piece had been turned green, the surface might actually "wrinkle" soon afterwards. In some pieces, I actually prefer that it wrinkles. I did a series back in the late '80s - early '90s that featured wrinkled surfaces ... I called it my "Ancient Vessel" series.
