Hi all!! I'm Bob Wilcox from Altoona Wisconsin. I'm a member of the Chippewa Valley Woodturners Guild, joining back in 2018. I had never really done woodworking much prior to 2015, but jumped in and decided to build a shop on my property and start the hobby. Once the shop got built and I had a purchased a few tools I got my first lathe, a Laguna 1216 from Rockler. I took a class from them and also began "self-teaching" by watching YouTube videos. I recently was able to purchase a Powermatic 3520 used from a Guild contact. It took some time to refurbish it as it had been stored in an airplane hanger for many years... In 2022 I had the opportunity to take a 3-day class from David Ellsworth and learned some improved techniques and the basics of hollowing from him. It was quite the experience. If anyone is interested, I have an Instagram profile which highlights my beginner turning projects. (@wilcoxwoodworking)

Living not too far from St. Paul, MN, I plan to attend this year's AAW Symposium. Hope to meet some of you there!

Bob
