I picked up a box of Ranger Work Boot Covers from Harbor Freight the other day on a whim. I actually like the idea and would wear them, but they are a stress stretch fit over my 13 wide New Balance shoes. Anyone know of a truly capacious shoe cover?

Grainger has lots of options. A couple times per year we buy their cheapest, blue, 500-pair count box for around $80-90. Pretty much one-time use, and for the 15-30 minutes they may be on my feet, they serve a purpose. Don't buy them, you won't like the fit over a shoe that big, if they get on your shoe at all. Look at their other offerings.

If you're thinking more like a spat or gater style, I bought these from Amazon a few months ago and they are working well. I don't bother getting the inner strap down into the heal area under the boot, no need. Leather, with good size velcro around the upper ankle area. Similar to what Kent showed (I like his, too), but more for welders than outdoor adventurers. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CNYSLHR?

Getting chips and dust inside your socks and shoes is a real problem for wood turners.

I have both the welders spats and the Dust Bee Gone shoe covers.

The cowhide welder's spats have a great design and work great. I find them a bit of
a hassle to put on and off. During the summertime, they get mighty hot on your feet.
My shop isn't air conditioned, so those with air-conditioned shops might
find these to be useful year around.

The Dust Bee Gone covers are poorly designed, and made out of a flat piece of
fabric. I found myself stepping on them with the other foot occasionally, and this
could lead to a fall. I have modified my set by overlapping and fastening the outer
edges so that the overall shape of them is more like a cup shape. This solves the
problem, and I am now using these all the time when I wear shorts. They even work
well with sandals during the hottest time of the summer.

Most of the time I'm wearing very loose fitting athletic pants, and I find I don't
need any method of preventing chips from entering my shoes.
