Searching for sales on chucks, I came across the site bandsawssales.com. it is listing, in a very convincing way, many brand name turning products such as the Vicmarc VM100 body for $98.99. Many cost products are in the 96.99 to 98.99 price. Normally I'd pass without a second thought "too good to be true" rule, but I'm wondering if anyone has actually purchased from them and gotten the item advertised.

Never heard of them, but I would be a bit suspect of a website selling tools that includes the following on their About Us page: "We’re still all about thoughtfully designed, well-made clothes." They might be legit, but I'm not about to find out.

I got a bandsaw tee shirt from them a while ago....needless to say, it was a bit stiff :-)

Yep. Here's what happens: You buy a "too good to be true" deal, in about a week or two you get a shipment notification with a tracking number.. In another week or two, your tracking shows up in USA, and then several days later you get a package - Something cheap like a wool hat or a t-shirt or some such dime-a-dozen doo-dads (So they can show tracking that says package delivered!) - you go and file a chargeback with credit card company who takes anywhere from 30 to 90 days to review and process the case, and then issue the final credit, and sometime in that 3 to 6 month time frame, your credit card is suddenly used to process a few hundred dollars in charges of small-ticket items, gift cards, etc., and then you have to call your credit card company yet again and get the card cancelled, charges reversed, and issued a new card.

I've seen this happen more than a couple times with some of my more gullible friends...

Ok I found the site. I would not buy anything from them either. If you get the AB for $95 let me know.
Yes, the one the OP posted had 2 s's in it. I did a copy-paste because typing is so 20th century :)
It's a standard website typo scheme - register websites one typo away from legit sites.
They put a lot of effort into that for a scam
Not really that much - they've got a 'bot to skim info from real sites with keywords similar to their fake address and build the entries automatically (probably with random prices). The AB ad is scraped from packard (even has packard's phone and email in it). Works the same for lathes and gaming consoles and purses etc.

Good responses from all. I'm done looking for deal! I'm paying the "sale price" and include two burgers, fries, and a shakes and I'll be back to normal retail pricing. A pipe dream but that is for the funny comments!
