Today I was looking at Thompson Lathe Tool's metal handles with interchangeable cutting blades (term?). With round holes in the handle a round gouge would fit. What about those with square or rectangular tangs? Are there adaptors?
When I mention Thompson above I am not limiting the question...
Time to replace my 3/8" spindle gouge. Am looking at a couple, including the Thompson gouges. Three questions.
The side grind looks different -- less swept-back -- than what I've been aiming for. Advantages/disadvantages? (yes, I know I can re-grind them, but curious about his grind)
