The pith section from between two bowls. Cracks filled with blue epoxy before any turning was done. I think it finished at around 11" diameter. I learned that this type of platter should be tall enough that you can reach your fingers under the rim to pick it up off the table. Fortunately, the...
A piece of mesquite that survived several attempts of me trying to use it for something other than a pleasant, decorative vessel. I turned and hollowed it and left a couple of nubbins at the rim to attach the upcoming handle. I originally left the surface smooth but after looking at the voids...
A mesquite vase inspired by Native American pottery. Basket illusion embellishments under the rim and up from the base. The rim and base are both inked black. The Mesquite has nice color and a sapwood feature in the open wood. 6" x 6". Finished with original Waterlox.
A southwestern shape vase made from Texas Mesquite. Faux basket weave features using ink and acrylic paint. 11" tall and 10" diameter. Embellishments were sealed with acrylic spray and the open wood was finished with Tung oil finish. This was a donation to SWAT for their 2023 raffle. Celebrate...

This Natural edge bowl is from a locally downed tree. The tree had 3 distinct trunks on the outside which merged into one on the inside causing the 3 humps on each end of the bowl. The dimensions are about 9" round by 2 1/4" high.
It was made around May 2022.
This is a Cindy Drozda inspired Waterfall Box. The box portion is made from a Sissoo tree which came down in our neighborhood after a storm. The finial and base are from a mesquite tree also drowned in our neighborhood and painted with India ink.
It is approximately 8 inches tall by 7 inches...
10" H x 11 Dia. Mesquite Root Ball inlay-ed with Turquoise. The Root Ball was dug up with a bulldozer in Wichita Falls TX. I rough turned it and I let it dry for about 9 months. After it was dry, I remounted, did the final turning, Inlay-ed Turquoise, Sanded and Finishing.
