This hollow form is turned from end grain, spalted maple. It came extremely close to the burn pile several times. It was really punky, has worm holes, and moldy. The tear out was nearly impossible to overcome. It measures 7.5 inches by 5.75 inches and is finished with wipe-on poly.

This hollow form is turned from end grain, European White Poplar. It measures 7.25 inches by 4.5 inches and is finished with Waterlox. The wood and its grain is a little unusual, it almost appears laminated. All comments, especially critiques, are welcomed and appreciated.

This pretty wood comes from the prunings of a large old Sugar Maple tree covered with burls. This piece is 7" dia x 10" tall and was turned from green
wood. The piece tells the story of this tree from the heartwood to bark. It's finished with my oil mix and buffed with tripoli and...

This hollow form reminds me of what might have been if a vase was made from the wood Moses brought down from the mountain top. I had a difficult time capturing the subtleties of the different colors in the flamed wood grain. It measures 4.5 inches by 7 inches and is turned from end grain maple...
My wife absolutely fell in love with this piece. When I told her I named it Antigua, she informed me I had better not sell this one. I am pleased with the coloration; it brings back fond memories of the Caribbean waters of Antigua where we honeymooned. The hollow form vase is turned from end...

This piece is 9"H x 8"D and was turned to a wall thickness of .25". The finish is Danish Oil and buffed. I had a section of the log with three visible piths, and after I cut them away, this was what was left. I didn't expect to find such a beautiful grain.
Hollowed with my new...
