Multi axis goblet with ogee curve and bead. Goblet bowl and base are cherry, stem is maple. Size is 13" h x 2.5" d. Finish is spray lacquer; inside will be finished with something that will be wine proof! Many thanks to Barb Dill and her article, this was a fun project!

Made of Cherry
This goblet was turned in two pieces. The base, stem, and leaves were turned and carved as one piece.
The bowl was turned to fit.
Finish is lacquer.
Height is 7"
Width is 2.5"
This goblet is fairly large, 11" tall, 5" wide at the top, 3" at the foot, the stem is 3/8" and the walls are 3/32" thick.
Box Elder burl with some beautiful grain. I wish I would of kept more of a curve going at the top, its to straight and looks top heavy.

The foot and leaf are oak, the stem and cup are ash. Foot and leaf were turned and carved. Stem and cup turned and inserted.
This goblet(?) was turned from dunno wood which I had saved from a tree which was fouling the shed and the fenceline. It measures about 5.5" tall and 2.25" in diameter. Finished with Minwax sanding sealer and one coat of Minwax poly.

Laminated Cherry and Maple

The thickness at the top is around 3/32 - 1/8. Haven't actually measured it.

Pomagranite goblet. This goblet won "Best of Show" in the 2005 Sonoma County (CA) Fair. My success with this piece is what lead me to creating the second one for the AAW contest.
Rustic/organic goblet done from Cherry. 6" tall, textured and stained, left natural on the inside. One of a pair of goblets made as a wedding gift, inscribed with their names and the upcoming date on the bottom. I kept a thicker base as a sense that this was something that has grown up...
I call this my "Ball in a Cage Goblet". It's made of Cherry and is 3 1/4" dia. x 7" tall. The ball in a cage and captive ring of rings were carved using both a rotary tool and by hand using carving tools. The finish is urethane oil.
