  3. Benicia 1st Street Camphor - SW style

Benicia 1st Street Camphor - SW style

So far, this is one of my favorite pieces from the camphor. This 10"w x 5"h Southwestern style bowl is finished outside with shellac and Chapman's beeswax, and inside with just Chapman's wax to keep the camphor odor. This is the first time i've used Chapman's and like it so far.

Box elder salad bowl - 12 1/2" dia. x 5 1/4" deep. Finished with walnut oil. This was a quickie shot in the bed of my truck, not the greatest locale for a photo.
  7. Yeren

    Yeren

Figured Big Leaf Maple, Texas Ebony foot, Chinese symbol and polished brass ring inlayed into the inside bottom of bowl. "Yeren" is Chinese for Bigfoot! It's very stable though. 7" x 3". Custom Finish

  11. Ambrosia Maple Salad Bowl

    Ambrosia Maple Salad Bowl

This is a beautiful piece of Ambrosia Maple. I have tried uploading a larger photo than in the past to see if it will give more detail. Shape was aimed at those who like to toss their Caesar's Salad
  12. Salad Bowl

    Salad Bowl

This is a large bowl, 17 inches across and deep enough to allow Caesar Salad fanatics to toss to their heart's delight. The rim also helps you hold the bowl if the hands get slightly oily.
  13. Unusual pattern

    Unusual pattern

I have never seen such an unusual grain pattern in hard Maple. It looks almost like raindrops on a window.
  14. Fuit bowl

    Fuit bowl

This piece of Black Walnut had some bad scar tissue (for want of a better description) so I tried ebonizing it with vinegar and steel wool. The scar marks disappeared and the mix gave the Black Walnut an incredible intensity without hiding the grain.
  15. Zebra Branded Bowl

    Zebra Branded Bowl

The branding is done with an 18-gauge nichrome wire coiled about 4-5 times, using Graeme Priddles' branding method. Special thanks to Molly Winton & John Lucas for his instructions on developing the coil pen.
