Watercolor Pencil Experiment

This is a 7" tall spalted maple turning by Mark Hall. I used Caran d'Ache watercolor pencils and acrylic paint. I am really liking using these pencils, and need to invest in a new set, cause mine has seen better days. I want rich color that gets flowy when wet. Anyone have a set that they love? I am happy with the way this piece is going, and welcome feedback.
