Walnut Sun Burst

This a walnut square bowl w/carving that is 10 1/2 x 8 1/4 and 2" high.This was first attempt at carving this way(free hand with lay out).Finished with wipe-on poly.This piece was inspired by Alan Stirt's web page.
I like this walnut piece better than the mahogany. Perhaps it's the picture, but the pattern is more striking in the walnut. I really like this piece. Thanks for sharing.
 
Bob, I've admired Alan's work and taken a class with him. Your carving is spot on. You might want to reduce the bowl to 1/3 the width of the piece to really show it off.
