Way cool, Lorin. I’m certain I’ll never tire of seeing your wood/zinc pieces. This one is great and slightly terrifying. I’m imagining a nightmare creature with rows of jagged metal teeth. Good stuff!

I tried to transcribe what could be found under the skin of the wood after cutting with a knife.

This piece is pretty cool Lorin. I love the contrasts in the two finishes, the flat black and the shine on the zinc. Then there is the smoothness of the wood vs the texture of the zinc. Add in the naturalish edge of the wood opening with the cracking and you get a great composition!! Well done Lorin!

Really nice piece. There's actually a ceramic piece in the Victoria and Albert in London that achieves a similar effect. I was inspired by it to try to attempt something comparable - but you have beaten me to it! Well done.
