Two Scoops of Vanilla 1

With the veritable Baskin-Robbins of woods, shapes and decoration the last few days, figured I'd lower the level. Needed some popcorn bowls for a show, so I turned some of basswood. Can't get any plainer. Walnut oil, first coat, 12.5 diameter.
The step-down cove? I like that too. Favorable comments on similar treatment last weekend from a couple of other turners. Have to meet with one after our last shows to demonstrate the beading and coving technique. He's got problems with tool angles, and has to sand the stinkers, which takes away a lot of the crispness. Not that I'm doing anything special, or am even capable of it!

Have to do some sort of edge treatment with these, as you're not about to be dazzled by the beauty of basswood. One I turned in cherry last night has a more subdued treatment. Maybe I'll pop a picture of that for your viewing.

Hope you got lots of rain to get the lake filled again. I made sure to go to outdoor shows so you could!
