Thank you. Totara is very common here in New Zealand. The timber is a beautiful dark red and very straight grained. It is soft, easy to work and has a natural preservative in it so has a very long life when used for outside structures such as fence posts.

Thanks. I did look it up. Probably not likely to get it easily here in the states. I've always wanted to visit NZ. Maybe I could sneak some back in the suitcase one day.
