SPINNING WHEEL

SPINNING WHEEL

Full size working spinning wheel. Over 100 pieces of honey mesquite. Ball bearings of wheel. Nylon bearings on bobbin. Leather bearings on flyer.
I am still learning to spin.
Erwin! Nice work! Looks like a beautiful piece. Hope learning to spin is as rewarding as making the spinning wheel was. You gonna learn to weave as well?

No, David, I don't intend to weave. At least not for a while. My wife does lot of things with yarn. I will leave that up to her.

Nice job Erwin. Looks like about 25% of the parts are in the center of the wheel. I'm in the process of making one for my granddaughter (Christmas is coming) and I hope it turns out well enough to be shown in the same room with yours.
Ain't got no honey mesquite so I'll likely use curly maple.
What's the finish on this one?
