how or what type of chuck did you use for the ebony top? i used a screw chuck for the first time today, but do not know how large of a piece i could use a screw chuck on?????
baitbegger, the collar was turned between centers then transferred to a chuck with spigot jaws where the hole was drilled and the collar shape finished off. The spigot jaws grip the spigot portion of the ebony collar that fits inside the walnut form. Hope this helps you.
