Sawtooth Oak with Wenge Pewas

This was an attempt at a twice turned natural edge bowl but it started cracking badly so I finish turned it after about a month of drying and used the pewas to literally hold it together. Fortunately they held and I was able to salvage the piece. I filled the cracks with epoxy once it was done drying. This 12” bowl was cored from a larger 15” bowl that needed similar rescue, I’m still finishing the larger one up. Finished with polymerized tung oil
