Red Finial

I like to find "well eaten" pieces and give them a spin. It's often interesting to be second artist when the insects were there first.

The finial topped work I am posting today is oak, turned and cleaned. A good power washer and some patience is required to clean all the tracks that the insects leave behind. Then they were died and finished with a nice wipe-on poly/tongue oil.

The finials are maple, dyed black.
