Red Cryptex

This project Was rattleing around in my head for a year and half. First I had to learn threading, some carving, flocking, dying and gilding as I had a plan for each technique. The cryptex is 12.5" long and 2.5" in diameter. It is constructed of Cherry finials and beads that are threaded together. The finials are hollowed out and deep blue flocking applied. I pyro'ed the letters on the Holly tumblers. The inner tube is Fiddle Back Maple and has brass pins. The tumbler tube (as is the tumbler rings) are staved constructed using Blond Mohogany. The bottom tumbler has a True Stone Turquois ring with my signature. The base is Sweet Gum and was dyed with Artisan Red dye as were the finials. The entire project was finished with Masters Gloss Lacquer. Hope you like it as much as I do. At least its out of my head now. All comments welcome!
