Red cedar--center turned

An arborist friend gave me this piece from a fast growing red cedar. It shows where the trunk split into multiple leaders. I suspect from topping the tree, but I can't be certain.

This was one of my first ring tool bowls, made with 1/2" Sorby ring tool. This wide ring cedar is about the softest thing I've ever turned. You can put 1/16" scratches with a finger nail.

Turned green, wet, sap flying. No sanding...I don't have that kind of patience!

Nine inches in diameter.
@Martin Groneng Thanks Martin. I'm pretty excited about center turning. It's a great diversion from side grain bowls. I just ordered a hook tool (already have the ring tool) and that's gonna be fun!
