Recovery from the funnel club

Nothing real special about this one. The top portion is an ash blank and I punched my ticket to the funnel club! I ended up using a piece of scrap oak and made a pedestal. I like how nicely it blended together and you'd never know about the reason behind this "design choice".

Nice save. Here's my grandiose l' admission into the BOFT (Brotherhood of Funnel Turners) from about five years ago.

As if the turquoise patch weren't reason enough to give it up and salvage a bit of dignity I blundered on. The rubber stopper somehow seems to complement the gaudy patch as things were basically down the drain anyway.

I see great utility in this piece. Enjoying a nice snack when <insert suspicious person here> enters the room. One pull of the plug and the snack quickly disappears under the bowl. "Nothing to see here!"
