Primordial, Structure

The wood is Cherry Burl. The finished size is 6" dia x 11" long. The piece was rough turned and hollowed green about eight months ago. The rough turned piece dried thoroughly before carving to the final shape. I used several coats of Danish oil and hand rubbed the piece with a fine soft paste wax.
Another nice one. I really like the organic feel of this one. Was this one a small ring burl turned with the pith on the center?

Thanks again Paul. I'm not sure if a ring burl is the same as a branch burl but yes it was turned end grain with the pith on center as you suspected.
